Description

Saturday, TBD 10-12:30pm -  APRIL DATE HAS BEEN POSTPONED. Sign up if interested and we will email you when a new date has been chosen.

Take a hike through a forest impacted by the Mosquito fire in Sept 2022. Led by a registered professional forester, we will learn about post-fire forest ecology, wildfire resilience, and the ongoing efforts to restore this land. Along the way, we will engage in nature journaling, observing, and recording evidence of the forest's history and regrowth. This <1-mile hike is hilly and uneven and will include areas in the forest that are differentially impacted by the fire. Intermediate hiking ability necessary. Well-behaved dog on-leash OK. Respectful children ages 10+ welcome. Steady rain cancels/postpones.  Meeting location is 8 miles east of Georgetown. FREE (donations encouraged). A detailed email will be sent once you register online at REGISTRATION LINK
