When it comes to cheese, it's hard to pick two more tempting than Mozzarella and Ricotta. No pizza is complete without the savory, stretchy goodness of Mozzarella... and who can resist the velvety versatility of Ricotta - in cannoli, ravioli, cheesecake, lasagna, or simply spread over a piece of warm toast drizzled with honey? Endlessly useful and unbelievably delicious, join us in the farmhouse for this two-for-one cheesemaking class, where we'll explore how to make both of these cheeses - in your own kitchen, completely from scratch! Homestead farmer Anne Morton - founder, owner, and teacher at Anvil Acre Farm - will demonstrate the process for making each of these cheeses from start to finish - with in-depth explanations of the ingredients, equipment, techniques, and even the science behind what makes cheesemaking possible! In addition, students will receive guidance on sourcing wholesome ingredients; how to avoid the common mistakes and frustrations many new cheesemakers experience. We will celebrate our cheesemaking success by sampling the cheeses we've made in class! Class also includes instructional handouts for each student with the information and recipes covered in class for future reference. Ages 15+ welcome. Meeting location Gold Hill/Placerville. Cost: $60/members, $70/non-members. A detailed email will be sent once you register online at REGISTRATION LINK
